National Ice Cream Month Celebrations!
As the summer reaches peak temperatures in July, Americans celebrate National Ice Cream Month as a way to cool off and enjoy the nation’s favorite frozen treat with friends and family. This “cool” Holiday can be credited to Proclamation 5219. On July 9, 1984, former US President Ronald Reagan signed the proclamation, which urges citizens to observe the entire month with appropriate ceremonies and activities.
So, we feel it is our civic duty to celebrate National Ice Cream Month! And this year, we are kicking up our celebrations a notch or two! Not only will we have our traditional Sal Snap Shot contest, we will also have prizes for Ice Cream Word Searches, and a Take Home Coloring Contest for kids 12 and under.
Ice Cream Word Search Details: We will release an Ice Cream Word Search by email and social media on Wednesdays during July’s Ice Cream Month. There will be nine ice cream word search winners each week, the first three correct word searches submitted by email, Facebook, and Instagram.
Winners will receive their prize certificates via email or messenger the following Friday. The word search will increase in difficulty and the prizes will increase in value each week. Only one ice cream word search win per person is allowed. So, if you win by email or social media submission, you will not qualify for another ice cream word search prize during July.
Word Search Prizes:
- Week 1: Prize Free Scoop of Ice Cream with 1 topping
- Week 2: Prize Free Milkshake or Malt
- Week 3: Prize Free Banana Split or Sundae
- Week 4: Prize: Ice Cream Dates for 2 and a $25 3-in-1 gift certificate
Take Home Coloring Contest Details:
The take-home coloring contest is for children 12 years old and younger. Coloring sheets are available at both Sal & Mookie’s locations (Jackson – The District at Eastover & Madison – Colony Crossing Shopping Center). We will select winners from age groups: 5 and under, 6-8, and 9-12.
Completed coloring sheets can be returned to both Sal & Mookie’s locations or submitted by email to:
Brandi Stodard – BrandiS@BravoBuzz.com. Completed coloring sheets need to include the child’s name and age, plus the parent’s/guardian’s first name and email. We will notify winners by the email address provided. Winners will receive an email notification on Thursday, August 3, 2023.
The deadline for coloring sheet submissions is Monday, July 31, 2023. If you are submitting your coloring sheet to the restaurant, please keep in mind we are closed on Mondays so you will need to have yours submitted by the close of business on Sunday, July 30, 2023.
Take Home Coloring Contest Prizes:
- Grand Prize: 4 Free Scoops of Ice Cream with 2 toppings & a $10 3-in-1 Gift Card
- Second Place: 3 Free Scoops of Ice Cream with 2 toppings & a $5 3-in-1 Gift Card
- Third Place: 2 Free Scoops of Ice Cream
Sal Snapshot Social Media Photo Contest Details:
During July, post a picture of your visit to Sal & Mookie’s (Jackson and Madison locations). Make sure your post is PUBLIC so we can see it and include it! When you post the picture to your social media page, tag Sal & Mookie’s and use #salsnapshot2023 for your chance to win a $50 3-in-1 gift and Ice Cream Date for Two. One lucky #SalSnapShot post will win! Each time you post and use the #SalSnapShot2023 your name will be entered to win, allowing multiple entries to increase your chances of winning. We will announce the winner on our Facebook and Instagram accounts on Thursday, August 3, 2023.
